With a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and a Master's degree in Human Nutrition from INTA – University of Chile, Ornella embarked on her journey in promoting healthy and sustainable diets during the fourth year of her undergraduate studies. Since 2019, she has been actively contributing to the field as a member of the FAO/UNU.
Currently, Ornella is in the final year of her PhD program in Food Science at the University of Parma. Her research focuses on optimizing country-level diets in Latin America and the Caribbean. She aims to develop dietary recommendations that encompass nutrition requirements, cultural acceptance, affordability, and the environmental impact within the limits of planetary boundaries.
